To
Hartford Residents:
Community United Presbyterian Church cares about the residents of
Hartford and has graciously agreed to open its’ doors to provide shelter
for those who do not have a safe place to go during violent storms.
In order
to provide a clean and safe environment to all those seeking shelter,
the following rules will now be enforced:
-
According to IA state
law, as of July 1, 2008 smoking is not allowed inside or outside
church grounds
-
Only the west basement
door will be unlocked for entry to the basement area. Please stay
in the lower level on the west side of the church until the Fire
Dept gives the “all clear”. Doors to the upstairs sanctuary are to
remain closed.
-
Please do not bring
your pets to the church.
In the past, pets in kennels
were allowed, but in order to provide a safe environment for all, pets
are no longer allowed.
Taking the time to kennel
your pet could endanger your life.
Our goal is to protect and
minimize loss of human life during the event of a violent storm.
-
The church has purchased a
weather radio and battery powered lanterns in the event of loss of
power. The church is also equipped with emergency lighting. Please do
not bring candles or other flammable items.
This policy will be reviewed annually.
